Adv. (CPA) Shlomi Vaknin is a founding partner of the firm and a leading figure in the Israeli tax landscape, bringing with him a reputation as an authority in tax litigation. With a career spanning decades and a dual professional background as both an attorney and a certified public accountant, Shlomi holds a multidimensional professional perspective. His unique expertise, particularly in the field of value added tax (VAT), has made him the preferred address for major corporations, professional associations, and taxpayers facing complex and precedent-setting tax issues.
Shlomi's professional background is deeply rooted in the core operations of the Israel Tax Authority. For approximately a decade, he held key positions in the Authority's senior management, serving as National Inspector in the professional division of VAT. In this role, he was responsible for shaping policy and making decisions on cases of national significance. This insider knowledge, combined with 18 years as a senior partner at one of Israel's leading tax firms, enables him to manage legal proceedings with a strategic understanding of "the other side."
Over the years, Shlomi has led precedent-setting cases before the Supreme Court and District Courts, which produced binding rulings that reshaped Israeli tax law. He is responsible for broad industry-wide settlements that changed the rules of the game for entire economic sectors. Alongside his litigation practice, Shlomi serves as Co-Chair of the VAT Committee at the Israel Bar Association and a member of the Indirect Taxes Committee at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants, where he continues to influence professional discourse in Israel.
