Adv. Ehud (Udi) Asa is among Israel's top experts in the field of indirect taxation, bringing to the firm a rare systemic perspective that combines regulation, academia, and senior business consulting. For over a decade, Udi held key positions in the Legal Department of the Israel Tax Authority's management (Customs and VAT Division). During this period, he not only assisted field units and the State Attorney's Office in the most complex cases, but also took an active role in shaping Israel's tax policy – from drafting procedures and legislative proposals to overseeing significant cross-organizational reforms.
Udi's transition to the private sector as a Director in the Indirect Tax Department at the international accounting firm KPMG (Somekh Chaikin) provided him with an additional layer of global business understanding. This combination – between the intimate knowledge of the "regulatory side" and the business understanding of major corporate needs – enables him to deliver optimal tax solutions for the firm's clients while minimizing exposures and managing calculated risks.
In addition to his work as a litigator and strategic advisor, Udi serves as an authoritative figure in the academic and professional spheres. He served as the lead lecturer in the Indirect Taxation course at Hadassah Academic College and is an active member of the VAT and Customs Committee of the Israel Bar Association.
